Where's the Price List?
These are some questions we’re often asked about our services.
“Where’s the price list?”
Every job is different, so we quote on a project-by-project basis. The price for each writing job will depend on:
- The quality of the base material – we can use short notes or bullet points, existing materials to rewrite or even interview you to get the key points of information so we can start to write.
- The complexity of the subject – it can take longer to understand the benefits of a complicated piece of software than it does to write about the features of a new riverside restaurant!
- The amount of time the job is likely to take – writing a website with 48 pages is going to take longer than a DL-size brochure, so we’ll take into account the volume of work required for the job.
Our pricing includes the time it takes to get our heads around your products/services, changes needed to the tone or style once the first draft has been produced (unless your initial brief changes significantly, in which case we may renegotiate with you) and the fastest delivery time possible!
About 99% of the time, we’ll provide you with a quote within one working day of receiving your call or email. Some larger projects can take longer to scope, but we’ll let you know when you can expect a proposal from us if that’s the case.
“Why don’t you charge per word or per page?”
A catchy slogan for the back of your business card can actually take longer to create than a full page sales letter, so our prices are based on the creative effort required, rather than just the number of words in the end result.
“How long does the writing process take?”
This depends on the quality of the brief we receive. The more detail we have about the job, the faster we’ll be able to deliver your first draft! As part of our briefing process, we’ll ask for details about:
- Your products or services – which can be sourced from your website, brochures or other materials.
- Your target audience – once we know who we’re talking to, we can make sure we’re giving them the information they need to know in the right way, in the right order.
- What you’d like the writing job to achieve – a website that aims to encourage sales enquiries needs different wording to an instruction leaflet.
When we know more about what your job requires, we’ll let you know when you’ll receive your first draft of copy from us.
“Have you written about what-cha-ma-call-its before?”
Probably! We've sold software and solicitors, promoted partitioning and pet food, championed charities and churches, hyped hair care and hotels and banged the drum for builders and beds.
At the end of the day, it only ever boils down to the same three things:
Benefits. Benefits. Benefits.
Whatever industry you’re in, we can help.
